Create shareable content! But let’s look at some SEO backlink basics first.
Google has always made it formally known that the best way to rank higher in their search engine is to be a site that contains relevant backlinks. For those of you that don’t know, a backlink is a link on another site that links back to yours, hence the name backlink. So you ask yourself, how do you get your website link on someone else’s website? There are plenty of ways to go about doing this, but the best way to do so is to create content that is sharable and can be easily shared (yes there is a difference).
How to create shareable content to build links for SEO
There are literally limitless ways to create content that contains links. Creating content for the internet has always only been limited by your imaging and your own abilities. You can create videos, music, games, etc, and embed them on your website. One of the most common and popular ways to build links is by writing articles or blog posts though, because Google’s main form of crawling the web comes from scanning trillions of lines of text. This means that Google will inherently know what’s on a page with text, more than a blank page with a video or game on it.
So how do you start getting your links on other people’s websites
Well there are a couple ways to go about doing this. Obviously the best, most organic and Google-approved method is to go about it naturally and just create content. Organic search will lead to traffic and if the content is good, then the people searching for it will share it. This method is a little bit passive though, because it doesn’t always guarantee backlinks, and often takes a long time to get traction.
Another way to go about getting backlinks is to pitch guest posts to relevant blogs. Guest posting is sort of frowned upon if not done correctly, but is common practice for a quick way to build links. The only downside is that guest posting can cost up to a moderate sum of money depending on the quality of the post (if you’re not writing it yourself), the relevance of the link, and the publishers experience with search engine optimization.
